ABOUT BROKEN BOW

BIO

Born and raised in the Midwest, I grew up hunting and fishing at the family ranch during my childhood. I spent time in the deer and turkey woods throughout my teen years learning about the outdoors from my dad, grandfather, and uncle. I always dreamed about western hunting, and horseback adventures deep into the wilderness but thought these were merely dreams or a once in a lifetime hunt. Fortunately, I ended up moving west after college and quickly realized I needed to up my hunting game. Western big game hunting is so incredibly different than anything I experienced in the Midwest or South. A western hunter must be dialed-in on multiple levels including spot and stalk techniques, long-range shooting (bow and rifle), navigation, fitness, and survival skills to name a few.

In all honesty, even as a lifetime hunter I struggled with the concept of western hunting at first. It is a completely different beast. It has taken several years of failure and defeat to learn the necessary skills to be successful in western big game hunting. The frustration that I encountered made me want to help other hunters learn the basics of western hunting. Currently, I reside in AZ and prefer to bow hunt several western states including Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana.

“After spending a few days in the woods with Rob, it becomes apparent, that for him hunting is no sport, hobby or even lifestyle.  It is his reason to be.  Being guided by Rob and spying a glimpse of his reverance for the natural world has been a memorable and great experience of my life.”
